JOB TITLE: Warehouse Material Handler/Shipping Packer
Reports To:
Shipping Manager
Summary
This position reports to the Shipping Manager and is primarily responsible for receiving orders, gathering items, packing correctly and labeling for shipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follows production schedule(s), select parts (based part number, counts) for packaging process and ensure accuracy during processes and reports problems to Supervisor.
Perform other job-related duties, which may include occasional tasks outside the normal scope of your job.
Operates sit-down propane forklift and/or electric pallet jack to transport inventory and load/unload commercial trailers.
Continuous ability to stand, squat, reach and bend. Must be able to team lift up to 100 lbs.; must be able to push and pull up to 125 lbs.
Comply with all applicable ISO Standards: Quality Management System, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and follow all plant policies and guidelines.
Comply with all applicable OHSA standards: Ensures all equipment guards, safety devices, and PPE (personal protection Equipment) are always in place at all times and follows safe work procedures and safety rules.
REQUIRED: Must be able to operate an upright electric forklift in tight spaces.
ATTENDANCE:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
