What we’re looking for
As a Vulnerability Management Engineer, you will use vulnerability management platform and appropriate ticketing systems to communicate and track vulnerabilities through the vulnerability management lifecycle. You will be required to manually validate the existence of a vulnerability through automated and hands-on testing. Success in this role requires a strong passion for computer, network, and application security. Vulnerability management experience in a Software as a Service company is required.
EST time zone 4.30pm till 1.30 am IST
Responsibilities:
● You will validate, prioritize, communicate, and track vulnerabilities to continuously improve the overall security posture of technology systems and applications.
● You will respond to emerging threats and potential security events as 0 day vulnerabilities are released.
● You will work to ensure compliance with our vulnerability management policies, processes, and procedures and drive adoption of emerging industry best practices.
● You will help streamline the vulnerability management process through the use of technology and automation, improving the end-to-end process and reducing the time-to-action for known vulnerabilities.
● You will build trust and confidence with our customers and partners through an exceptional vulnerability management program.
Requirements:
● BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience
● Industry-relevant certifications such as but not limited to SANS GEVA, GCIA, or GCIH, CISSP, CISM
Must haves
● 2-5 years of experience in a related cybersecurity role, preferably with a focus on vulnerability management, penetration testing or Incident Response.
● Ability to write scripts in Ruby (preferred), Python or other scripting language
● Understanding of Vulnerability Management tools such as OpenVAS, Defect Dojo, Nessus
● Proficiency in various operating systems (Linux, MacOS, Windows) and familiarity with network protocols is essential.
● Ability to assess security risks associated with vulnerabilities and prioritize them based on potential impact.
● Strong communication skills are vital for explaining complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating with different teams within the organization.
● Hands-on experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Nice to Haves
● Hands-on experience with Burp Suite, Tenable, and AWS State Manager
● Hands-on experience with Metasploit framework or similar
● Hands-on experience validating vulnerabilities
