Lantern is hiring a VP/SVP of Product, AI/ML to lead the vision, development, and execution of our AI product strategy. We’re seeking a senior Product Leader who thrives at the intersection of experimentation, strategy, technical fluency, and organizational leadership.

This is a high-impact, hybrid role: You’ll roll up your sleeves to build proofs-of-concept with a small, fast-moving team, while also shaping our long-term AI roadmap, governance frameworks, and company-wide adoption of AI tools and practices. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, Clinical, and Commercial leaders to identify, validate, and scale AI-powered solutions that materially improve the lives of our members and the efficiency of our teams.

This role is for a builder who can zoom out to enterprise strategy—and zoom in to tinker, prototype, pressure-test, and iterate.

What You’ll Do

Set & Drive AI Strategy

• Own and evolve Lantern’s AI product vision and roadmap in alignment with enterprise strategy and AI governance standards.

• Translate emerging technologies and risks into actionable strategic choices for the organization.

Lead Discovery, Prototyping & Experimentation

• Identify high-impact opportunities for AI across intake, triage, member engagement, claims, operational workflows, and internal tooling.

• Lead hands-on experimentation, building lean PoCs, rapid prototypes, and agentic workflows to quickly assess value and feasibility.

• Create clear paths from concept → alignment → scalable product.

Execute & Scale

• Convert validated opportunities into robust, scalable product experiences.

• Define product requirements, prioritize tradeoffs, and partner closely with engineering and data teams to drive high-quality delivery.

• Establish measurable outcomes and ensure successful rollout and adoption.

Cross-functional Leadership & Evangelism

• Act as a thought leader and trusted partner to Product & Engineering, and more broadly across the Lantern organization.

• Drive organizational AI literacy and adoption. Help teams understand, evaluate, and integrate AI safely and effectively.

• Communicate complex concepts simply, influencing at all levels from ICs to the executive team.

Governance, Safety & Compliance

• Partner and drive the AI SteerCo to ensure all AI solutions meet Lantern’s standards for safety, security, ethics, privacy, and model risk management.

• Embed governance into the product lifecycle without slowing innovation.

Thought Leadership & Market Awareness

• Maintain a deep understanding of AI trends, LLM advancements, and agentic system patterns.

• Bring an informed perspective on where the market is going—and how Lantern should position itself.

What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of product management experience, with significant leadership experience and at least 3–5 years owning AI/ML products, platforms, or applied LLM systems.

• Demonstrated ability to ship AI-powered products that achieved measurable business or clinical impact.

• Strong technical fluency: comfortable collaborating deeply with engineers, data scientists, and ML practitioners, and capable of building or guiding rapid prototypes.

• Experience with LLMs, RAG/agent systems, orchestration frameworks, or applied machine learning in production environments.

• A strategic thinker with a bias toward action, experimentation, and learning through doing.

• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.

• Experience in healthcare, regulated industries, or environments with complex data governance is a strong plus.

• A growth mindset and grit: you’re excited by ambiguity, hands-on building, and scaling something that matters.
