Invictus Capital’s Algorithmic trading team is responsible for:

• Development and maintenance of of Invictus capital’s proprietary trading framework

• The maintenance and development of data-driven algorithms dealing with the asset management of our funds, risk management and automation

• The development of proprietary trading and hedging algorithms in the cryptocurrency space

• Putting the trading algorithms in production so that they run in a scalable and robust manner

Examples of the teams’ work are: 

• Reinforcement-learning based cryptocurrency trading AI bot 

• Market-neutral crypto trading algorithms

• Directional trading algorithms using supervised learning and/or rules engines

• Building advanced simulations used in backtesting our own trading algorithms

• Market making algorithms

We are looking for an experienced and highly qualified individual capable of heading up the algorithmic trading team. You will be an outstanding leader with ample technical experience in both the financial (trading) and the software engineering disciplines. As a team lead, you will also be responsible for attracting top-tier engineering and quantitative finance talent while providing leadership and mentoring to the team. 

Technical job description

You will be responsible for:

• Safeguarding the technical and algorithmic roadmap of the team while also assisting the team with developing, maintaining and implementing trading algorithms

• Managing the team’s goals and performance 

• Partnering with the CEO and CTO to create a long term vision and roadmap for the algorithmic trading team

• Leading by example; contribute code and have a deep understanding of our stack

We are looking for an accomplished software engineer or data scientist who has worked in the financial sector with:

• Team lead experience: managed a team of software engineers and/or data scientists

• At least 3 years experience working with Python, Java or golang in Linux or MacOS

• A comprehensive understanding of databases (we use PostgreSQL and Redis)

• Experience deploying containerized microservices in Kubernetes

• Relevant experience in financial trading

• Experience with putting your own models into production and monitoring them

• Experience with developing dashboards and other visualizations to monitor the performance of your models

You should have a relevant formal qualification or equivalent knowledge:

• BSc Eng in a relevant field (Electrical Engineering; Information Engineering/Systems; Network engineering; or similar)

• BSc Comp Sci with network or ops experience; etc

We use the following tools, frameworks, languages and technologies in the backend

• Languages: Python, SQL, Golang, Java

• Task management and version control tools: Jira, Confluence, Gitlab

• Google Cloud technologies: Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Redis

• Data science toolkits: Tensorflow, scikit-learn, Mlfinlab, Jupyter notebooks, Optuna

If you have experience / understanding of the following it will be very helpful in the job application process

• An understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology

• Practical experience with the trading of crypto assets on exchanges
