How you’ll make an impact

As the VP/GM,Reporting and Insights, you will lead the evolution of a product used by millions of customers globally. You will be responsible for reimagining our reporting experience, shifting from a traditional engine to a sophisticated, AI-native approach that provides personalised and tailorable capabilities for our users. This is a high-visibility leadership position with the mandate to rebuild and modernise a core part of our platform, ensuring it can scale effectively while maintaining absolute data accuracy.

You will have the unique opportunity to act as a founding leader in Vancouver, building a brand-new engineering and product hub from the ground up. By breaking away from legacy dependencies, you will define how data shows up for our customers, creating a foundation that supports massive transaction volumes and delivers real-time accounting insights. Your work will directly influence the success of a platform that small businesses rely on for their financial health.

What you’ll do

You will lead a diverse global collective, while spearheading the growth of two new teams in Vancouver. This role is supported by a dedicated leadership structure in Australia and New Zealand to help manage time zones and ensure seamless collaboration across our regional hubs. Together, you will bridge the gap between complex data engineering and customer-centric product design to deliver a world-class reporting stack.

The team is currently working on / Initially, you will focus on

• Architecting an AI-first reporting stack that moves away from operational database reliance to improve global scalability.

• Hiring and establishing two new high-performing engineering and product teams within our Vancouver hub.

• Integrating the efforts of specialised global teams to create a unified and modernised reporting experience.

• Developing technical standards for high-accuracy data systems that manage complex historical accounting data and audit trails.

• You bring deep expertise in leading large-scale data systems within environments where precision and accuracy are non-negotiable.

• Your background includes experience building or modernising complex platforms.

• You have a proven track record of hiring and growing high-performing technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

• An interest in how data products manifest for the end-user allows you to balance technical excellence with a great customer experience.

• You possess the strategic mindset needed to navigate the transition from legacy systems to a modern, AI-native architecture.

• Your leadership style empowers others and promotes a culture of technical mastery, autonomy, and continuous learning

Compensation & Total Rewards

While base salary is a core component, we look at your compensation through a holistic lens that includes equity, performance incentives, and world-class benefits.

The expected base salary range for this role in:

• CAD $280K – CAD $330K • Plus bonus and equity.

Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and the specific skills you bring to the role.

In addition to base pay, Xero’s roles are eligible for the following forms of variable compensation:

• Variable Pay: Permanent employees are eligible to participate in our annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs. You may also be eligible for performance-based cash or equity (RSUs) incentives depending on your role level, and company performance.

Where and how you can work

This role is based in Vancouver, where we embrace a hybrid working model. We’ve just opened our new office in downtown Vancouver in a co-working space, with plenty of room to grow as we expand our engineering presence. You will spend time in our local hub to foster collaboration and culture during our boost days, while also having the flexibility to work from home. We provide the tools and support needed to lead a global team across multiple time zones effectively.
