Our client is a vocational consulting firm that works with individuals, employers, attorneys and insurance companies in relation to vocational assessments, education, employment, court testimony and life-care plans.
Location: Denver, CO
Job Type: Direct Hire
Annual Pay Rate: $38K to $50K (DOE)
Schedule: 8am to 5pm / Monday to Friday
• Evaluate and counsel individuals who have disabilities or limitations in order to provide vocational rehabilitation services
• Records review and interviewing individuals
• Conferring with medical, professional, and educational personnel to determine the type and degree of disability or limitation
• Determine eligibility for services and feasibility of vocational rehabilitation
• Identifying suitable jobs and/or classes of jobs consistent with the individuals aptitudes, physical, mental, and emotional abilities
• Assist individuals regarding the appropriate areas of study or in obtaining the proper training or education for a position
• Consult with attorneys, employers, and insurance company representatives regarding the services provided
• Assist in preparing vocational assessment reports, life-care plans, including market, education, and life-care plan research
• Testify at depositions or in mediation, hearings, and trials as an expert witness
• Conform to all billing guidelines and achieves billing goals
• Performs marketing and sales activities, including cold calling and networking events
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling preferred (or related field)
• National certification of Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) strongly preferred.
• Advanced ability to analyze and make sound judgments and to accurately document activities
• Advanced oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with claimants, medical professionals, employers, claims staff and others
• Excellent negotiation skills to effectively establish target return to work dates
• Advanced knowledge of state, local and federal laws related to vocational rehab
• 1-3 years of work experience in vocational rehabilitation or related field
• Proficient computer skills include MS Office Suite & Internet Research
