Job Description
The Mission
There is a massive gap between "having a disability" and "having a career." At Omega Health Services, we bridge that gap. We are a CARF-accredited leader dedicated to the radical idea that everyone—Veterans, individuals with Autism, and those with developmental challenges—deserves the independence that comes with a paycheck.
We aren't just looking for an employee; we’re looking for a community advocate.
A Day in the Life of a VC
As a Vocational Counselor, you aren't stuck behind a desk. You are the "boots on the ground" catalyst for success.
The Matchmaker: You’ll pair our consumers with local businesses, helping them navigate everything from the first interview to their first promotion.
The Bridge: You’ll educate employers on assistive technology and reasonable accommodations, turning "barriers" into "solutions."
The Coach: You’ll provide 1-on-1 on-site support, teaching workplace social skills and helping coworkers become "natural supports" for our consumers.
The Strategist: You’ll use tools like Asana and Google Suite to track progress, document success, and collaborate with the Person-Centered Planning (PCP) team.
Is This You?
We hire for attitude and heart, but we need you to be organized. You’ll be a great fit if:
You are independent. You enjoy a "mobile office" and managing your own schedule.
You are diplomatic. You can talk to a CEO one hour and a student the next.
You are reliable. You have a valid driver’s license and your own vehicle (we reimburse your mileage!).
You are tech-literate. You’re comfortable with tablets and cloud-based software.
The Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, General Education, or History & Arts;
OR Associate's Degree with 1 Year of relevant experience;
OR High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience: 3 Years of General Education/Tutoring Experience.
Certifications: First Aid/CPR (Upon Employment) and Relias Training (Completed On-Site).
Tech Skills: Proficiency in Workplace by Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Asana.
Compliance: Valid Driver's License, personal transportation with proper insurance, and successful completion of Drug Screen and Background Checks (Federal, State, County).
The "Omega" Perks
We believe those who care for others should be well-cared for themselves.
Fast Financial Growth: Eligibility for pay increases after just 90 days.
Professional Pedigree: We pay for your ACRE, CESP, and WIP-C certifications.
Total Wellness: Health & Dental, Life Insurance, and a Financial Wellness program (SmartDollar).
The Basics (Plus): Mileage & expense reimbursement + Company Tablet.
Time for You: "Earn-as-you-go" PTO, Paid Holidays, and a Flexible Work Schedule.
