Job Description

Job Title: VMware Migration - Migration Lead
Locations: Fort Mill, SC , New York
Key Responsibilities
• Lead VMware infrastructure migration activities (Assessment, Planning, Execution & Validation).
• Perform discovery and assessment of existing VMware environments.
• Develop detailed migration strategy, runbooks, and rollback plans.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, application, security, and network teams.
• Oversee migration of:

Virtual Machines (VMs)
Storage (SAN/NAS)
Networking components
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security and governance standards.
• Manage risk, dependencies, and timelines for Phase 1 deliverables.
• Provide executive-level status reporting and stakeholder communication.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues.
• Validate post-migration performance and stability.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• 8+ years of IT Infrastructure experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with:
• VMware vSphere
• VMware vCenter
• VMware ESXi
• Experience leading large-scale datacenter migrations.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Virtual networking (VLAN, NSX – preferred)
• Storage technologies (SAN, NAS)
• Disaster Recovery & High Availability
• Experience with cloud migration strategies (AWS/Azure – preferred).
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong documentation and governance experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• VMware certifications (VCP / VCAP).
• Experience in Financial Services domain.
• Exposure to automation tools (PowerCLI, Ansible).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.

Soft Skills
• Strong leadership & decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Strong risk assessment & mitigation capabilities.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.
