Quick Summary
A Visiting Engineer: Adapt AI is responsible for building a content adaptation engine that produces genuinely different in tone, structure, and format, not just copy-paste with a different word count, for content teams to produce more than ever but still sound the same everywhere.
Required Skills
Job Description
Content teams produce more than ever but their output still sounds the same everywhere — because distribution is an afterthought. This role is to build a content adaptation engine that takes one source asset and turns it into channel-native outputs across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and beyond: genuinely different in tone, structure, and format, not just copy-paste with a different word count.
What you'll build:
• A multimodal ingestion pipeline for source text, images, video, transcripts, or mixed-media assets.
• A generation system that produces genuinely platform-native outputs across three or more channels.
• A brand voice memory or control layer that keeps outputs coherent across formats and campaigns.
• A review workflow that lets operators steer outputs instead of accepting generic one-shot copy.
What you'll do:
• Own the end-to-end product from ingestion and transformation logic to editor experience and delivery workflow.
• Design brand voice systems that are specific enough to be useful and flexible enough to scale.
• Build evaluation loops around output quality, channel fit, and consistency across modalities.
• Get the product in front of content teams quickly and learn where automation creates leverage versus cleanup work.
• Work with AI Fund's build team on the sharpest wedge, technical architecture, and go-to-market shape.
What you need:
• Strong product engineering skills and real experience shipping multimodal or content-heavy AI systems.
• Hands-on familiarity with transcription, generation, retrieval, or publishing workflows.
• Taste and product judgment around voice, format, pacing, and what makes content feel native to a platform.
• The ability to move quickly from MVP to usable operator workflow.
• You know how to use AI coding assistants and modern GenAI tools to accelerate execution without creating fragile systems.
• US work authorization. We are unable to sponsor visas for this role.
Helpful but not required:
Experience in social media tooling, creator tools, or marketing infrastructure.
Experience with video clipping, audio or transcript pipelines, or content QA systems.
Founder or founding engineer experience in workflow software.
Who this is for:
A builder who cares about both model quality and operator workflow quality.
Someone who sees content adaptation as a systems problem, not a prompt template problem.
What to know upfront:
This is a 12-week, full-time, on-site residency in Mountain View, California.
Not every residency becomes a company. The goal is to pressure-test the idea quickly and honestly with real users and customers.
You will be building an AI Fund idea, not bringing your own startup idea into the program.
The process typically includes a Builder Event or equivalent working conversation, then a 48-hour Builder Challenge, then panel review with AI Fund build leadership.
The compensation is intentionally modest during the residency because the upside, if the idea works, is a founder-level role.
Compensation:
$10,000/month for 12 weeks ($30,000 total). This is a contract role during the residency. If the build leads to a funded company, the next step is a founder-level role with meaningful equity upside.
This is a strong opportunity for a builder who wants to take an idea from concept to working product alongside Andrew Ng and the AI Fund team. We are only considering candidates within commuting distance from Mountain View.
