Virtualization & Disaster Recovery Architect

Summary – We are looking for a seasoned Virtualization & Disaster Recovery Architect with 12–13 years of experience in architecting, implementing, migrating, and managing complex, enterprise-scale virtualization, and disaster recovery solutions. The role demands deep hands-on expertise across multiple virtualization platforms, hyper converged infrastructures, and DR/BC technologies, ensuring high availability, resilience, and business continuity for mission critical workloads.

Location: Bangalore or Hyderabad 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise virtualization and hyper converged infrastructure platforms across VMware, Microsoft Hyper V, Nutanix, Citrix, Red Hat, Oracle, and HCI solutions, while leading data center consolidation, hardware refresh, migrations, capacity planning, performance optimization, and the definition of virtualization standards and best practices.

• Design, implement, and operate comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity solutions across on premises, hybrid, and multi-site environments using tools such as Zerto, Veeam, VMware SRM, and PlateSpin, with responsibility for defining and optimizing RPO and RTO objectives.

• Manage and integrate storage-level replication technologies including Hitachi, Dell EMC, HPE, and IBM solutions, while planning, executing, and documenting DR drills, failover and failback testing, recovery validations, and maintaining detailed runbooks and architecture documentation.

• Architect hybrid and cloud-based disaster recovery solutions leveraging VMware Cloud DR, Azure Site Recovery, and AWS VCDR, enabling seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and public cloud platforms and supporting workload mobility across environments.

• Serve as a technical authority and subject matter expert for virtualization and disaster recovery, leading architecture reviews, technology evaluations, and proofs of concept, collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring engineers, and supporting audits, compliance efforts, and infrastructure resilience risk assessments.

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

• Technical Expertise – 12–13 years of experience in IT infrastructure with strong emphasis on virtualization and DR.

• Expert-level knowledge of: VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and KVM-based platforms

• Enterprise DR and backup solutions

• Strong understanding of: SAN/NAS storage architectures

• Data center networking (VLANs, routing, load balancing)

• Windows and Linux operating systems

• Experience designing multi-site, metro, and geo-redundant DR architectures.

 

Preferred

• Automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Ansible).

• Container and virtualization integration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).

• Exposure to software-defined networking (NSX, Azure Virtual Network).

• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC, PCI DSS).

 

Certifications (Preferred)

• VMware (VCP / VCAP / VCIX)

• Nutanix (NCP / NCM)

• Microsoft (Hyper-V / Azure)

• Zerto / Veeam / Commvault / Rubrik

• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure)

Educational qualification:

• BE, BTech, BCA, BSc (IT) MCA, MBA (IT) and MSc(IT)

 

 

 

Experience:

• 12 - 13 Years of experience
