Job Description:

• Program seeks a Virtualization and Storage Engineer (Subject Matter Expert). Extensive expertise with VMware ESXi, vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, Dell Storage, and Brocade Fibre Channel Networking in private and public cloud is required.

• This position requires keeping up to date with Dell Storage, Dell Servers, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESXi platforms in use at the customers site, as well as a testing and validating interoperability in a lab setting prior to deploying updates to production.

• Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Systems Center Virtual Machine Manager, Active Directory, Hyper-V, VMware, vCenter, ESXi, Dell Compellent, Brocade Fibre Channel Networking, and PowerShell.

• The environment is fast moving and has high expectations for quality of work and turnaround times.

The Virtualization and Storage Engineer duties include:

• Execute capacity planning and upgrades of the customer’s virtualization and storage infrastructure (primary responsibilities of this engineer).

• Provide specialized knowledge how to implement and upgrade systems in conformance with customer requirements

• Lead the development of operational and maintenance procedures for systems

• Document system configuration and operational procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provides assessments of technical and operational practices based on leading industry standards specific to the requested technology.

• Plans, organizes, and conducts research in a variety of areas, such as new or existing products, science, social science, law or business in support of an IT initiative.

• Searches sources such as reference works, literature, documents, newspapers, statistical records, and other sources of information. May use Internet, Intranet, magazines, periodicals, journals, and other media to perform research.

• Analyzes information and statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professionals

Skills:

• Extensive ESXi experience

• Extensive Hyper-V experience

• In-depth understanding of Server hardware and Windows Operating systems

• Experience with Dell Servers, configurations and troubleshooting

• In-depth experience of Active Directory

• Extensive experience with Brocade Fibre Channel Switches and Brocade Network Advisor

• Experience with Dell Compellent SAN and Dell Storage Manager

• Experience with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager

• In-depth knowledge of PowerShell

• Experience with Azure Cloud Services and Azure Pack

• Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience
