Vineyard Operator - Harvest Casual

Dorrien Estate Winery is one of Australia’s leading grape crushing and Winemaking facilities. With two sites located in the heart of the Barossa Valley, the winery also provides full winemaking and processing services to contract customers.

 

As a Vineyard Operator, you will be responsible for day-to-day vineyard operations across the Dorrien Estate sites for the duration of Vintage

You will work closely with the Vineyard Manager and other operators, assisting with vineyard operations.

What you'll do:

• All Tractor operations, including spraying, mowing, canopy management and harvest activities. 
• Daily equipment cleaning, routine and preventative maintenance
• Compliance and record keeping
• Maintenance of vineyard sites, including surrounds, facilities, and reserves
• Active OH&S and continuous improvement participation through safety meetings, toolboxes, and inspections

 

Now let’s talk about you: 

• Must be fully available for the duration of Vintage (Feb - May)
• Previous experience in vineyard operations, or related agricultural experience
• Tractor driving experience
• Current Forklift License is essential
• Flexibility to adapt to different work environments and vineyard sites
• Willing to work shift-work, long hours and weekends for the duration of vintage. 
• Can work autonomously and problem solve as required
• Able to safely lift and carry heavy items, and drive for extended periods, including on rough terrain
• Can work as part of a team and contribute to a positive team culture
