Job Description

Techland is one of the biggest video game companies in Poland, with over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry. From our studios in Wroclaw and Warsaw, we’ve built an international team of more than 500 talented professionals, all dedicated to pushing the boundaries of game development.

We’re known for creating iconic franchises like Call of Juarez and the zombie genre-defining Dying Light, which has been played by over 45 million players worldwide. With a focus on open-world action, storytelling, and community engagement, we’re committed to delivering unforgettable experiences to our players.

We’re constantly striving to improve, innovate, and take on new challenges. With ambitious plans for the future, we’re looking for passionate people to be part of this exciting journey.

The Video Editor / Cinematic Artist is a creative craftsman within Techland’s Creative Services, responsible for transforming concepts into visually stunning, emotionally charged trailers and video assets. You are the filmmaker and editor, owning the end-to-end process from capture to final edit. This is a hands-on craft role requiring a balance of technical precision and artistic storytelling—combining cinematography, sound, and pacing to deliver world-class marketing content that defines Techland’s visual identity.

You are a self-sufficient creator who thrives in the edit suite and the engine, capable of delivering polished, industry-leading trailers from an abstract script.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the complete production of trailers and video assets, from concept and in-engine capture through editing, sound, and final delivery.
• Capture high-quality, mood-appropriate gameplay and cinematic footage directly in the game engine, staging shots and choreographing camera movements.
• Collaborate with the Art Director and Producer to interpret briefs and define cinematic goals.
• Apply advanced cinematic editing techniques, mastering visual flow, pacing, and emotional storytelling.
• Design and integrate sound and music, synchronizing audio to create immersive and engaging experiences.
• Direct simple motion capture sequences and integrate performance data when required.
• Implement motion graphics and visual transitions that reinforce narrative and brand identity.
• Optimize final video output for multiple platforms and formats (4K, social, console stores).
• Stay current with industry trends and new tools, continually pushing creative boundaries in capture and post-production.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in video editing and cinematic production, ideally within the gaming, film, or entertainment industry
• Mastery of industry-standard editing and compositing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and related toolsets
• Proficiency with real-time game engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary) for cinematic capture and camera work
• Strong understanding of cinematography, lighting, and visual composition, with a director’s eye for framing and movement
• Experience in sound design and audio editing, with an ability to layer, mix, and synchronize sound and music to picture
• Ability to work with mocap data or direct simple performance capture sessions.
• Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, and emotional storytelling, able to craft cohesive narrative beats through editing
• Comfort working independently, taking ownership of the full creative process from start to finish
• Collaborative and adaptable, capable of taking feedback and improving iterations quickly.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication and documentation skills
• Portfolio demonstrating finished trailers or cinematic sequences, ideally for AAA or high-quality independent productions

Nice to Have

• Experience in live-action filming, lighting setup, and camera operation
• Familiarity with animation workflows and cinematic sequencing tools such as Sequencer (Unreal), Timeline (Unity), or similar
• Knowledge of color grading and HDR pipeline workflows for high-quality output
• Understanding of narrative beats, gameplay mechanics, and pacing for open-world or cinematic games
• Passion for visual storytelling and emotional cinematics, with a drive to constantly refine, polish, and push creative standards

What we offer:

• A dedicated Buddy who will support you in your daily tasks.
• A wide array of benefits: private medical care, life insurance, pro-health campaigns, gifts for different occasions.
• An outstanding work atmosphere in a highly-skilled team of professionals, with flexible working hours, no dress code, and full support of the dedicated HR Business Partner.
• Many opportunities for personal development: a dedicated development budget for each employee, extra two paid days for training and CSR, stable career paths, extensive internal and external training, and financing of English and Polish language classes.
• State-of-the-art offices filled with chillout zones, a fully equipped kitchen, a gym (Wrocław office), and a free car park (Warsaw limited amount of space).
