Job Description
Phillip Jeffries is looking for a leader to join our IT Team!
At Phillip Jeffries, we believe the most beautiful spaces begin with meaningful connections. Since our start in a family garage in 1976, we have grown into a global luxury wallcovering brand trusted by the world’s top designers and architects. Today, our curated collections and dedication to exceptional service set the standard in the industry. That kind of reputation is built by passionate people who know how to sell not just a product, but a story.
We are seeking a Vice President, Information Technology to lead and shape our global technology organization. This role is based out of our Fairfield, NJ headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule with four days per week onsite.
The Vice President, IT is responsible for setting the enterprise technology direction for the company and ensuring that systems, platforms, and security scale with our business. This leader will own the technology roadmap end to end, balancing innovation with stability, speed with risk, and central standards with local flexibility.
You will partner closely with ownership and executive leadership to translate business strategy into clear technology investments, outcomes, and priorities. You will lead a growing global IT organization supporting more than 400 employees across 20+ locations, multiple countries, currencies, and compliance environments.
What you'll be doing:
Leadership
Build and evolve a high-performing global technology organization that supports a growing, international business
Recruit, develop, and retain strong senior leaders and high-impact individual contributors
Design and continuously refine team structures, roles, and career paths as the organization matures
Serve as a coach and mentor while staying close enough to execution to maintain credibility
Ensure every role within IT has a clear development plan aligned to long-term growth
Enterprise Technology Strategy
Own and maintain a multi-year enterprise technology roadmap aligned to company growth, operational leverage, and risk posture
Directly control technology budgets, headcount planning, and vendor strategy
Shape investment decisions by initiating high-impact opportunities, rejecting low-value initiatives, and sequencing work to balance speed, capacity, and risk
Design governance models that support experimentation through pilots, staged funding, and clear decision gates
Cybersecurity and Technology Risk
Serve as the enterprise owner of cyber risk and technology risk posture, including:
Identity and access management
Data protection and privacy
Vendor and third-party risk
Incident response and recovery readiness
Establish a scalable security operating model that grows with headcount, geography, and system complexity
Ensure executive visibility into cyber risk, controls, and readiness
IT Operations and Global Service Delivery
Ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-effective technology operations across all locations
Own global endpoint strategy, service desk performance, system administration, and platform reliability
Design support models that evolve alongside decentralization while maintaining enterprise standards
Balance user experience, security, and operational efficiency as the business grows
Development, Automation, and Systems Enablement
Lead all internal development efforts, including:
ERP extensions and integrations
Reporting and data platforms
Workflow automation and process digitization
Increase development throughput while improving quality, predictability, and time-to-value
Leverage AI, low-code, no-code, and emerging technologies to create operational leverage
Establish clear capacity management and prioritization across competing demands
Champion a technology philosophy of placing the right data in the right system for the right role
Product-Oriented System Ownership and Business Solutions
Introduce and mature product management practices for enterprise systems and system-backed processes
Define which product ownership roles live centrally within Technology versus embedded in functions
Ensure every system has clear ownership, a defined roadmap, and measurable outcomes tied to business value
Lead Business Solutions teams that translate business needs into scalable, sustainable technical solutions
Must Have:
Must be based in New Jersey (or able to work on-site 4 days per week at our Fairfield, NJ headquarters)
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise technology within a global organization
Demonstrated ownership of technology investment portfolios, including budget accountability, prioritization, and ROI realization
Experience operating in both centralized and decentralized organizational models
Proven track record deploying and overseeing cybersecurity programs in a multi-site, international environment with 400+ employees
Hands-on leadership exposure to:
Enterprise platforms such as ERP, CRM, WMS, marketing automation, and Microsoft Office
Custom development and system integration
Enterprise-level cybersecurity governance and incident readiness
Proven ability to operate as a strategic business partner, not simply a service provider
Executive presence with the ability to independently present strategy, budgets, tradeoffs, and outcomes to ownership
Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to translate technology decisions into operational and economic impact
Comfort leading through ambiguity and resolving cross-functional tension without default escalation
