Position Overview
Crescent Biopharma is seeking a Vice President, Drug Discovery to provide strategic and technical oversight for all aspects of Crescent’s novel drug discovery efforts from lead identification to preclinical development and commercialization. The ideal candidate is a creative and innovative scientist who has had senior level scientific/technical responsibility with substantial experience leading the successful discovery and development of drug candidates across many biologics modalities, such as monoclonal antibodies, antibody drug conjugates, and peptides in the fields of immunology and oncology.
Responsibilities:
• Guide the strategic approach for target selection, antibody discovery and therapeutic approach to identify and develop novel drug candidates.
• Build, lead and develop high performing research & preclinical teams.
• Lead technological innovations to drive continual improvements and optimization of Crescent's antibody and ADC programs enabling continued success as the organization grows.
• Effectively manage a departmental budget and deliver results based on work conducted at CROs and external partners.
• Represent the company at scientific conferences and author high impact peer reviewed publications.
• Responsible for delivery of research and development reports to support regulatory submissions (IND/IMPD, information requests, amendments, briefing books, BLA/MAA etc.)
Education & Experience :
• Ph.D. in Life Sciences with a minimum of15 years of combined R&D experience in the biotech/biopharmaceutical industry and world-class academic institutions. M.S. with equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated career growth and experience gained in leading growing R&D organizations.
• Deep experience in drug discovery and development in oncology.
• Successful leadership of antibody and ADC program(s) from discovery to preclinical development and commercialization.
• Recognized leader and expert with a track record in cancer research, immunology and cell biology fields.
• Inspires teams by being intellectually and scientifically curious, is extremely scientifically rigorous and creative and creates an environment where imaginative and constructive dialog can flourish, conflict is well-managed and complex issues are driven to full resolution.
• Demonstrated success in attracting world-class scientific talent.
• Hands on experience with regulatory requirements for the development and approval of novel therapeutics in oncology.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$324,000 to $358,000 USD.
