The Role
The visual effects Editor is responsible for handling all editorial tasks required on shows in addition to internal requests.
Responsibilities
• Checking show set up for internal and external requirements
• Processing turnover information and revised edits and updating internal edits and databases accordingly
• Maintaining all cuts, keeping them updated with the latest versions from artists
• Importing and QCing new versions of vfx shots into Avid, managing Avid media and storage
• Providing witness cam, line up, retime, resize, audio and other reference to artists
• Maintaining editorial info in shot and VFX databases and having a solid understanding of all editorial tools.
• Making and requesting selects for additional media requests e.g. element shoots and creating media for client deliveries
• Liaising with Framestore Editorial at other offices
• Liaising with cutting rooms (when appropriate)
• Preparing for and driving dailies sessions and client reviews:, Avid, SRP and remote
• Good working relationships with internal production, artists and other support departments providing advice, reference and information when needed
• Providing support, motivation and training for assistants (where relevant or necessary)
• Sending files securely as needed via Front and Aspera.
• Cutting in-house and external reels as required and running end of show procedure.
• Develop good knowledge of best Framestore work and start a playlist of potential showreel tracks.
• Respecting confidentiality and media security policies.
