About the job: The Overnight Veterinary Technician position will assist the hospital in delivering
excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Technician duties pursuant to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.

How you'll make a difference

• Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity

• Provide all technical support to emergency veterinarians

• Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care

• patients

• Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring

• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws,

• arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine

• Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross

• matching, and slide agglutination testing

• Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph

• while following appropriate radiation safety protocols

• Properly use and maintain medical equipment

• Provide professional client communication

What you will bring

• Experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician for 2+ years, or open to consider

• registered technicians with any experience in ER/ICU setting

• A strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work life

• Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral

• Ability to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocols

• Demonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks / projects

Schedule: Three 12-hour or four 10-hour shifts, 9:00pm - 7:00am

Salary: $29.00 - $34.00 (this range includes the differential)
