Bring your passion for animal welfare and community impact beyond the clinic walls. The Humane Society of Central Oregon is seeking a Veterinary Outreach Coordinator to expand access to veterinary care for underserved communities across Central Oregon.
This role blends program leadership with hands-on fieldwork—coordinating and assisting in outreach clinics, community programs, and pet food assistance while building meaningful relationships with the people we serve. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care in mobile and non-traditional settings, ensuring services are accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

What You’ll Do
As the Veterinary Outreach Coordinator, you will:
Coordinate mobile veterinary clinics, spay/neuter services (HQHVSN), and community outreach programs ensuring positive client experiences in diverse community settings
Serve as the trusted HSCO Veterinary Outreach representative and key point of contact in the community
Lead the Community Animal Program (TNR – trap-neuter-return)
Oversee pet food bank operations, inventory, and distribution events
Provide veterinary assistant support during clinics (animal handling, client care, surgical support)
Schedule clinic caseloads and coordinate animal transport and mobile clinic logistics
Track program data, assist with grant reporting and budgeting
Train and support staff and volunteers
Deliver client education and community engagement

Knowledge of veterinary care, animal handling, and outreach programs
Comfort working in mobile, outdoor, and non-traditional environments
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 1+ year experience in animal welfare, veterinary clinics, or shelters
Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Experience with high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN)
Familiarity with community cats and TNR best practices
Work Schedule
Full-time (40 hours per week), including at least one weekend day per month. Evenings and on-call responsibilities may be required.
