Vertica Developer having Informatica experience

Job Description: Developer (2-4 Yrs experience desired , Individual Contribution Role)
· Provide technical solution for data warehousing and/or BI and similar systems.
· Ability to understand high level technical solution & develop solution/code using Vertica technology
· Ability to do low level designing
· Ability to do activities from ETL Development to Deployment. Should be able to Code, Unit Test & Deploy
· Effectively handle multiple work assignments, while consistently deliver high quality work
· Develop Informatica mappings and mapplets to implement the business rules as per table specification documents.
· Create Informatica Sessions and Workflows.
· Write bteq/vsql scripts to process data.
· Perform bulk data loads from flat files to Vertica.
· Tune performance of Informatica sessions, identify and resolve performance bottleneck issues in source/target Informatica mapping.
· Prepare deployment guide with all the code that has to be migrated to QA/Production environment.
· Coordination with System Testing team to migrate the code to QA System Testing.
· Work with System Testing and UAT teams to analyze and resolve opened defects.
· Provide 24/7 support during the warranty period to projects after deployment to Production.

Technical Skills and Competencies in Vertica :-

· Should have good knowledge of Vertica and cluster Architecture (WOS,ROS,HA)
· Should have good knowledge of Vertica Components like : Logical and Physical Schemas, Databases
· Should be an expert in using complex Vertica SQL ,Flex tables etc
· Should be experienced in Performance Tuning in Vertica which includes creation of projection, partition swapping etc
Hands-on implementation of E2E Vertica components
· Should have good knowledge of BI and Data Warehousing and ETL and data modelling.
· Should have good knowledge of Informatica, Teradata and/or Oracle, SQL, Unix
Behavioral Competencies

· Good analytical & communication skills
