As a Verification & Validation Engineer - Equipment Qualification, you will join our Systems Engineering team supporting the verification and validation of power station systems and equipment within the Nuclear project. 
You will provide technical leadership for complex, safety-critical and business-critical areas of the power station design. The role focuses on developing verification strategies, defining evidence requirements and leading activities that demonstrate design compliance throughout the engineering lifecycle.
You will work closely with design engineers, technical specialists, safety teams and external suppliers to ensure that verification evidence is generated, reviewed and assessed in accordance with regulatory, technical and programme requirements.
• Location: Manchester/ Warrington/ Derby (Can be anyone site)
• On Site:  2 Days 
• Clearance: BPSS
• Experience Level:  5- 15
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop verification and validation strategies for assigned systems and technical areas
• Define verification objectives, evidence requirements and exit criteria
• Support the verification and validation of the nuclear safety case
• Define and coordinate verification activities including:• engineering analyses
• rig testing
• qualification activities
• design assessments
• Review, audit and collect evidence from internal and supplier-led verification activities
• Assess design compliance against technical and system requirements
• Produce technical reports supporting regulatory submissions and engineering decisions
• Present technical evidence and reports to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies
• Act as an intelligent customer for verification and validation activities across internal teams and suppliers
• Coordinate technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines
• Support delivery of programme milestones, budgets and schedules
• Identify, manage and escalate technical and programme risks
• Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
• Mentor and support V&V engineers within the wider team
• Conduct technical reviews and quality checks of engineering outputs
Required Skills:
• Strong experience in verification and validation within regulated or safety-critical industries
• Experience developing V&V strategies, plans and compliance approaches
• Experience defining and managing verification activities including testing, analysis and qualification
• Ability to assess evidence against system requirements and demonstrate compliance
• Experience managing complex engineering projects and technical scope
• Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
• Experience managing suppliers and external technical interfaces
• Understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management
• Ability to manage technical uncertainty and evolving requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience conducting technical reviews and providing constructive feedback
Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical. Electrical, Systems or Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Eligibility to obtain UK security clearance (BPSS as a minimum)
Desirable Skills:
• Experience within the nuclear industry, or other highly regulated sectors such as power generation, oil & gas, or major infrastructure.
• Knowledge of nuclear regulatory frameworks or safety standards such as ONR safety principles.
• Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or safety-critical engineering projects.
