ABOUT THE ROLE
Compal is a leading innovator dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and delivering advanced solutions to our clients. We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Integration and Validation Engineer to perform various evaluation tasks and acquire and organize data based on test plans to ensure safety and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience in engineering within the automotive industry. This role will contribute to developing high performance far-infrared (FIR) camera solutions for the vehicles of the future.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, Integration, maintenance, inspection, and operational management of ADAS systems on test vehicles
• Preparation, execution, data acquisition, and creation of reporting materials based on test plans for test vehicles
• Conducting evaluations using test tracks, public roads, and simulation environments, as well as handling on-site technical issues
• Supporting technical communication with design, planning, and regulatory certification departments, external organizations (such as JARI, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and suppliers), as well as overseas offices and partner companies
• Lead testing and validation to confirm integrated systems meet performance, safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Ensure all designs and integration processes comply with automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and internal requirements
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for validation procedures and test results • Comparing and analyzing key performance indicators (KPI) for each SW version • Creating performance evaluation reports
Qualifications:
• Master's or bachelor's degree with engineering
• Practical experience in testing operations for autonomous driving or ADAS on test tracks or public roads.
• Over 5 years of practical experience in the evaluation of AD/ADAS sensors & ECU systems.
• Leadership and ability to manage challenges
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Japanese, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management
• Someone who enjoys working hands-on
Preferred Qualifications:
• Self-motivated, competitive, patient, results-driven, and proactive worker
• Strong team player who can collaborate effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders globally
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Experience in ADAS systems development
• Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet, LVDS and experience in data acquisition and troubleshooting using analysis tools
• Knowledge of UN R regulations, Japanese safety standards, and type approval processes
• Implementation skills for data processing and test support tools using Python and C/C++
