VAT Manager

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our national VAT tax team which is responsible for providing VAT compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients.

The primary responsibility will be to deal with all matters relating to the management of a portfolio of clients and managing more junior members of staff as necessary. You will also provide assistance to Directors/Partners in both client work and in the management of the group and you will actively be involved in and identify special assignments and advisory projects.

As VAT Manager your responsibilities will include among others

• Acting as trusted adviser and engaging with clients to identify VAT issues
• Managing a  portfolio of advisory and compliance cases
• Giving exceptional client service, taking the lead in managing and developing certain client relationships whilst identifying opportunities on client portfolio
• Ensuring compliance procedures are followed taking account of institute and HMRC guidance
• Assisting junior staff with on the job training and working collaboratively with team and wider colleagues to ensure a joined up approach

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have

• Significant VAT experience gained within the profession and or industry
• Technically capable tax adviser who is able to assist in complex client work
• Demonstrable experience of managing people and clients
• Appetite to develop business development skills to assist with the growth of the business

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) or tax advisor (CTA)
