Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is looking for a UX/UI Designer for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.
Context
The role is part of a large‑scale digital environment supporting the end‑to‑end management of complex, high‑impact programmes at European level. The digital solutions involved cover the full lifecycle of grant and expertise management, including participant interaction, proposal handling, evaluation processes, contract preparation, follow‑up, payments, audits, and reporting.
These solutions operate in a highly regulated context, requiring strong compliance with financial, legal, data protection, and auditability standards. The platforms are mature and continuously evolving to meet new business, policy, and user needs, requiring ongoing improvements in usability, accessibility, and overall user experience.
Role & Responsibilities
• Conducting usability testing and user experience analyses across different stages of digital products.
• Providing UX and UI recommendations from early conceptualisation through to final implementation.
• Designing low‑ and high‑fidelity wireframes, mock‑ups, prototypes, and storyboards for web applications and platforms.
• Defining and maintaining style guides, visual standards, and component libraries.
• Contributing to the definition of information architecture, interaction workflows, navigation structures, typography, and visual elements.
• Performing user research, interviews, and usability studies, and translating findings into actionable design decisions.
• Synthesising insights from UX research, analytics, surveys, legacy systems, and organisational objectives.
• Preparing and presenting UX analysis reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Designing visual assets such as illustrations, infographics, data visualisations, and other graphical elements.
• Defining user‑centred evaluation criteria, identifying usability issues, and proposing concrete improvement actions.
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to align user needs with strategic goals.
• Contributing to documentation to support maintainability and future evolution of digital solutions.
• Supporting performance, scalability, and usability optimisation from a UX perspective.
Your Profile
• Strong ability to work in multicultural and multilingual teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings and recommendations.
• Proven capacity to engage stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
• Result‑oriented mindset with high standards for quality and consistency.
• Ability to convince and influence senior stakeholders using well‑structured arguments.
• Strong team spirit combined with the ability to work autonomously.
• Rapid self‑starter, able to integrate quickly into ongoing projects.
• High level of discretion and integrity, particularly when working with sensitive or confidential data.
• Excellent command of English (C1 level), both written and spoken.
Technical Skills
• Proven experience as a UX Expert, UX Consultant, UX Researcher, or equivalent.
• Solid experience with usability studies, user research, and UX analysis.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work across different domains or industries.
• Experience with prototyping, wireframing, interaction design, and information architecture.
• Knowledge of UX design best practices, including accessibility, ergonomics, and responsive design.
• Experience with UI and design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalents.
• Good knowledge of web technologies and standards (HTML, CSS, XML, SEO, web analytics).
• Understanding of user‑centred design methodologies and usability testing techniques throughout the project lifecycle.
• Familiarity with different user testing methods (e.g. remote testing, A/B testing, post‑release testing).
• Experience with agile environments and collaborative design approaches (design sprints, participatory design) would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of research techniques and analytical methods to support UX decision‑making would be considered an asset.
