Required Skills
Job Description
The Role
We’re looking for a UX Designer who cares deeply about designing clear, human‑centred experiences in an AI‑enabled world—particularly for internal users. You’ll help shape workflows where people and intelligent systems work together in transparent, well‑governed ways that support confidence and trust.
You’ll be curious and motivated by emerging technologies, but pragmatic about constraints.
The role focuses on designing within established enterprise patterns and frameworks, optimising and extending what exists rather than creating highly bespoke interfaces.
Much of the work involves designing experiences within low‑code and configuration‑driven environments. This means shaping workflows, rules, and interactions through flexible frameworks rather than fully bespoke front‑end builds and thinking carefully about how design decisions translate into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Early‑career designers are encouraged to apply, especially those who can demonstrate thoughtful problem‑solving, a user‑centred mindset, and a willingness to learn and grow as AI‑driven design practices continue to evolve.
The Team
We design and evolve a business‑critical internal platform used daily by customer‑facing teams to support complex service journeys. The platform plays a key role in enabling efficient, accurate, and empathetic interactions, helping frontline users do their jobs with confidence while delivering consistent, high‑quality customer experiences.
The product operates in a regulated, high‑volume environment where design quality has a direct impact on user efficiency, trust, and decision‑making. We work closely with product, engineering, data, and AI specialists in an agile, discovery‑led setting, with a strong focus on learning, iteration, and measurable outcomes.
What you'll be doing
Design user‑centred workflows and interfaces that support internal users in complex service tasks
Translate policies, processes, and rules into clear, usable experiences within low-code or configuration driven systems
Collaborate closely with product owners and engineers to design within real‑world constraints
Improve and extend existing UI patterns, design systems, and configurable components rather than creating one-off solutions
Design AI‑assisted and agent‑supported flows that feel understandable, trustworthy, and human
Apply context‑aware thinking so experiences adapt to role, task, and situation
Create user flows, wireframes, and high‑fidelity prototypes
Take part in discovery, user research, and feedback cycles to continuously improve the product
Contribute to emerging design practices around AI, agentic experiences, and responsible design
Have some fun along the way
What you should have, but don't worry if you don't have it all.
Below is an overview of the skills and experience we are looking for, but remember, don’t rule yourself out if you don’t have everything on the list – it’s your intellect and your attitude we are really after.
With your application we ask that you provide a link to your design portfolio.
Essential
Experience in UX or product design through education, placements, internships, or commercial work
A portfolio showing clear problem‑solving, structured thinking, and user‑cented decisions
Good written and verbal communication skills
Confidence engaging with users and stakeholders
Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma or similar)
Comfort designing within existing systems, patterns, and constraints
A collaborative mindset and ability to work well in cross‑functional team
Comfort designing within systems where behaviour is driven by rules, configuration, and reusable components
Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a digital design related subject. Comparable commercial experience may also be considered
Candidates should reside in Northern Ireland with the relevant Right To Work visa
Desirable
A clear interest in AI and emerging technologies
Experience using AI tools to support or accelerate design work
Awareness of how AI capabilities can affect usability, trust, and human decision‑making
Familiarity with AI‑assisted or agentic experience design concepts (e.g. human‑in‑the‑loop, guardrails)
Interest in adaptive or context‑aware experience design
Experience using analytics or research repositories to inform design decisions
Exposure to regulated environments or complex operational systems
Experiencer designing for internal or operational users.
