FMC Experience Design
We’re responsible for the design of all FMC interfaces across mobile and in-car displays. Our team consists of highly specialized Visual Designers, Interaction Designers, Prototypers, and Design Hybrids, working to create and continuously innovate the user interfaces of autonomous cars. Our mission is to push the in-car experience beyond what's expected by crafting designs that make our users measurably happy and drive the autonomous electric vehicle revolution forward.

The design team is a flat, individual responsibility and impact is big. Each member of the team is fully autonomous. They are leads for their interface functions and products and take full ownership of the design, responsible for every detail.

• Successfully collaborate with global teams distributed across China, the USA and Europe, and ensure effective work-assignment hand-offs between teams in different time zones.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with FMC’s design quality standards; ensure on-time delivery of work-results.
• Lead by example and share your in-depth knowledge of design with your team.
• Work closely with UX experts, interaction designers, and engineers on moving a product from idea to release. 
• Discover what matters to users and help determine not just what things look like, but how they work and what we build next.
• Push the limits of your knowledge, have the humility to admit when you don’t have an answer, and have the curiosity to figure it out.

• Be willing to travel up to 20% of your work time nationally and internationally if required.

Has an expert level of knowledge of user experience design with at least 5 years of product strategy to wireframing and prototyping, execution, and analytics.

• Design the experiences of our interfaces with a clear understanding of business goals and user behavior.

• Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translate them into user flow diagrams, wireframes and prototypes.

• Proactively conduct design research and share results of latest social, cultural, and technological trends.

• Establish highly effective methods to ensure the both, user interface and interaction concept, are easy to understand, and pleasurable to use.

• Create new UX and prototype concepts that explore key areas of the FMC user journey with a primary focus on the in-car and seamless mobile experience.

• Utilize your expert knowledge of wireframes to deliver industry leading user experience.

• Share your extensive insights in UX design, and usability with more junior designers and/ or suppliers.
