Usability Tester HMI / Automotive (m/f/x)

Your mission

We are entering a multi-year collaboration with a major vehicle manufacturer to design advanced in-vehicle digital experiences. Our work spans early R&D exploration through to production-grade design delivery, supporting several parallel development tracks and working closely with internal product and engineering teams.

Your Tasks:
• Plan, prepare and conduct usability tests for in-vehicle interfaces, prototypes and design concepts
• Conduct testings as a mandatory part of design process
• Run studies across lab, simulated, and in-context environments (incl. driving scenarios)
• Document findings clearly and translate them into actionable recommendations
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, researchers, prototypers and engineering teams
• Support iterative testing throughout concept and production phases
• Ensure compliance with safety, accessibility, and automotive-specific usability standards

Your profile:
• Automotive & HMI Experience (such as Android Automotive OS, infotainment, navigation, ADAS, HMI, connected services, mobility or other future mobility services)
• Experience with complex, scaled product development or delivery programs (ideally Automotive & Mobility experience working with OEM, Tier1 or Agency/Consultancy)
• Understanding of driver context, cognitive load and specific test conditions
• Quality, Safety and Compliance Mindset (Commercial Vehicles HMI ≠ Consumer Apps)
• Experience conducting usability tests for digital products (automotive or hardware-integrated systems is a plus)
• Competence in usability testing + automotive testing setups
• Ability to work with / maintain HMI rigs
• Strong skills in test planning, facilitation, observation and documentation
• Experience with eye tracking, telemetry or behavioral analytics tools
• Ability to work with interactive prototypes

Bonus• Basic familiarity with ISO standards 
• Experience with commercial vehicles 
• Experience with automotive HMI evaluation setups (driving simulators, hardware-in-the-loop, safety-critical interaction testing)
• Ability to handle GDPR-secure workflows
• Experience testing in VR/AR
