Business Need / Purpose of Role:
The Assistant Manager CLS Operations (Hub) is responsible for managing service delivery of the husbandry hub providing the support for global or regional customers in line with the company/department process and strategy.
Oversees the operational activities of the defined Principal(s) accounts, assisting the Hub team, SVC performance, Stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement of the Service Center & Principals Accounts delivery specific to the hub location.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Foundational knowledge of Port Operations and Port Agency services.
Knowledge of Shipping Documentation i.e., Bill of Lading (BOL)
Ability to work independently with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative, exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, be detail oriented and results driven.
Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent customer service and communication skills, including strong verbal and listening skills.
Must possess advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational coordination
Understand customer requirements of services and communicate the requirements to the Local Port agents and the service delivery centre in as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Ensure and manage full utilisation of the operating (ERP) IT system(s) and tools available by all the relevant stakeholder’s usage, including but limited too, port calls management
Coordinate daily operational requirements of assigned customers ensuring service delivery by the port agent and the service delivery centre
Oversee and manage the day-to-day service delivery of the Hub Principal team to ensure all procedures are competently executed
Manage and monitor principal requests, reporting, procedures and policies, working instructions and principal contractual requirements
Principle and stakeholder engagement, follow-up, relationship development and management
Assist with the onboarding and implementation of new or existing Hub Principals into the business
Drive continual improvement of processes and service delivery with assistance of the Hub service centre
Assist in managing issues of Local port agents in the region
Quality Management
Ensures service delivery standard failures by Service Centre, team, individual or LPA are escalated and reported for followed up with the relevant stakeholder
Ensures compliance with the principal requests, procedures and policies, working instructions and contractual requirements
Adhere to and assist in ensuring the Service Centre staff are compliant with all ISS processes, procedures, instructions and policies
Assist in maintaining and regularly review Inchcape and principle specific, (including but not limited too) Databases, Manuals, SOPs, PWI, KPIs, reporting requirements
Monitor and evaluate LPA's performance - when required plan, implement, and deliver improvements
Education, Qualifications, Certifications, and Licenses
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Administration, Business Administration or, or related field recognized equivalent from an accredited university preferred; equivalent experience maybe substituted for educational requirements.
2-4 years’ experience in general maritime industry with exposure to various commodities and vessel types utilized in the port of employment. Preferably with experience in Port Agency (shipping services) with exposure to various commodities and vessel types utilized in the port of assignment. Industry experience: logistics and professional services (preferably around ports / shipping; desired)
Experience working within a complex multi-national, multi- cultural organization; desired.
Expertise in international, federal, state and/or local laws, rules and regulations for operations and security (USA & IMO).
Experience working within pre-defined processes and procedures – delivering work in accordance with SLA’s (Service Level Agreements).

Licenses:
Incumbent is expected to travel around specific port/terminal locations and surrounding areas and must possess their own reliable transportation, a valid "non-expired" state drivers' license, and vehicle insurance coverage.
Once selected for employment, federal regulations require that the applicant must either undergo a federal background check as part of the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) program or already possess a TWIC. Compensation range is $65,000 and up depending upon experience. You may also be eligible for bonuses and other benefits.
