Timezone: Must have overlap with US business hours
Compensation: $2,500-$3000/month
About the Role
We are seeking a US Tax Accountant based in the Philippines to support US-based SMB clients with R&D tax credit and cost segregation engagements. This role is ideal for a mid-level accounting professional with experience working with US companies and exposure to specialty tax incentive work.
You will work closely with senior US-based accountants and tax professionals to prepare documentation, perform analyses, organize client financial data, and support tax optimization projects. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting work and wants to deepen their experience in specialized areas of US tax.
Responsibilities
• Support R&D tax credit engagements for US-based SMB clients
• Assist with cost segregation studies and related tax analyses
• Prepare and organize financial documentation, workpapers, and supporting schedules
• Gather and review client financial and operational data
• Coordinate with US-based accountants and internal team members to complete deliverables accurately and on time
• Assist with identifying potential tax savings opportunities for clients
• Maintain organized records and documentation for compliance and audit support
• Communicate professionally with clients as needed regarding requests, timelines, and follow-ups
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
Requirements
• CPA required
• 3+ years of accounting or tax experience supporting US-based companies
• Experience working with US SMB clients
• Exposure to one or both of the following:
• R&D Tax Credits
• Cost Segregation
• Understanding of US tax and accounting workflows
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote US-based team
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working for a US CPA firm or outsourced accounting firm
• Familiarity with US tax documentation and compliance processes
• Experience supporting client-facing accounting or tax engagements
• Experience with US accounting and tax software platforms
