US Synthetic has an immediate need for a R&D Technician I located in Orem, UT. The R&D Technician I
will assist Engineers in providing the customer with a competitive edge through research, development, and improvement of US Synthetic product and processes.

What You Will Do:
Respond to experimental manufacturing interruptions dealing with quality, cost, safety, delivery and people
Assist floor when running experimental product
Respond to and resolve basic research issues concerning R&D specific product, i.e. shipment approval, process changes, redlines, etc.
Perform new-cutter experiments assigned by engineers
Create experimental records along with modified product specifications that include current revisions and processes specific to the experiment
Manufacture new test product for customers to test in the field
Participate in research and development and light-weight teams
Develop new core R&D ideas
Meet with the R&D engineer to discuss status of current experiments, future projects and customer needs
Respond to urgent internal customer requests; work flexible hours to accommodate requests
Record and analyze data to improve and develop experimental product
Perform pre-press operations on all experimental products; gather and order materials, assemble product, etc.
Recipe and profile creation/association
Assist other engineers and technicians when needed
Travel occasionally for trainings and technical meetings
Develop or modify existing prints and materials to meet specific customer needs
Prepare product and paperwork for in-house and field testing
Deal directly with scientists and engineers
Follow all company policies (Attendance, No Tobacco Products on Campus, Illegal Drug & Alcohol, Family Medical Leave Act, Personal Appearance, Personal Electronic Devices, Vacation & Personal Time, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED is required
Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
Two years at US Synthetic
Must be at least an advanced operator or equivalent
Physical Demands:
Stand and sit for eight or more hours
Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Use of safety equipment (Safety glasses, Gloves, Respirator)
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer skills, i.e. R&D Database, MT2, MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Made2Manage, etc.
Experience with US Synthetic Manufacturing processes (Assembly/Press preferred)
Problem solving skills
Organization and interpersonal skills
Technical lab experience; technical experience in product testing/evaluation
Ability to multitask
Attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision
Six Sigma
Machine shop system experience
