Job Title: Urology Advanced Practice Professional (NP/PA)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Urology Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive care for patients with urologic conditions. The APP will work collaboratively with urologists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in outpatient and inpatient settings, including evaluation, treatment, and follow-up management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with urologic conditions, including urinary tract disorders, kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia, incontinence, and urologic cancers.
• Conduct patient histories and physical examinations, review diagnostic studies, and develop care plans in collaboration with urologists.
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient education and follow-up visits.
• Perform procedures within scope of practice, such as catheter management, bladder instillations, cystoscopy assistance, and office-based procedures.
• Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests in accordance with scope of practice and clinical protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, oncology, radiology, and primary care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Active NP or PA licensure in the state of employment.
• National certification as an NP or PA.
• Prior experience in urology or a surgical specialty preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, procedural, and communication skills.
Work Environment:
• Outpatient urology clinic with potential inpatient or procedural responsibilities.
• Collaborative, team-based practice with opportunities for professional development.
Requirements:
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
