Job Spec
Mosaic is looking for a North America Agency—Underwriting Operations Product Lead. This position is responsible for running the day-to-day UW operations for Mosaic’s Environmental and Excess Casualty product lines, including management of onshore delivery operations.
Responsibilities
Provide daily management of all aspects of agency underwriting operations for Environmental and Excess Casualty lines of business
Overall ownership of the delivery of agency UW operations for Environmental and Excess Casualty, ensuring timely and accurate services to Mosaic’s Syndicated Capital Management (SCM) partners
Liaison/communicate with North America Environmental and Excess Casualty UW teams to deliver UW operational processing, provide updates on operational performance and address queries/questions
Coordinate with international agency operations counterparts to ensure global continuity in governance, process, and communication, as well as managing expectations and deliverables to SCM partners
Act as key point of contact for mitigation of any operational issues/concerns raised by stakeholders or customers
Conduct monthly UW meeting to review
Prior month end reporting (review through month-end report)
Current status of submissions, binds, endorsements, etc
Trends in queries (focusing on specific queries that need UW assistance and how to address them prior to being sent to UW)
Trends in how data is received (prior to inception, within one month, within two months, etc)
Provide regular reporting to UW product teams for open queries
Responsible for management and performance of offshore operations as relates to service levels/KPIs, quality and timeliness of delivery, issue resolution, corrections, audit and benchmarking
Be key point person between onshore underwriting teams and offshore processing teams. Act as point of escalation for any UW offshore operations issues
Perform quality control on sample of transactions processed by offshore teams
Undertake, review, and develop optimal process flows. Identify and implement additional opportunities to best maximize and leverage offshore operations capabilities
Facilitate monthly, quarterly, and annual planning with Environmental and Excess Casualty UW teams to determine future operations resourcing requirements
Ensure operating procedures and guidelines are in place, followed and maintained
Develop necessary corrective action plans, as needed, related to both business requirements and UW operations performance and delivery quality
Participate in projects to improve/automate operations, acting as subject matter expert for the Environmental and Excess Casualty product lines
Skills and Experience
6–10 years processing/supervising underwriting operational activities within North American insurance agency (e.g. submissions, clearance, binding/booking, etc); offshore operations experience is essential
Processing/working with Environmental and Excess Casualty lines of business is essential
Processing for a commercial/specialty insurance agency acting as coverholder of Lloyd’s is preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with employees/customers, mitigate potential issues that arise
Ability to conceptualize and execute innovative plans impacting overall efficiency and productivity of operations
Ability to work collaboratively with a geographically distributed team and quickly understand and adapt to new cultural norms/standards
Ability to effectively manage offshore operations and drive maximum value from the relationship
Ability to work with all levels of employees and management
Self-motivated individual capable of working to a deadline when required
Comfortable working with ambiguity in a young and maturing organization
Strong use of computer software, including all Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, Power BI, etc); knowledge/experience working with policy administration systems

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The salary this position is $100,000 - $130,000.
