Job Title: Underwriting Assistant (Quality) - German speaking
Division: Underwriting Operations
Reports To: As per Beazley Org Structure
Key Relationships: Underwriters, Brokers, Underwriting Assistants, UCO, and external clients and suppliers.
Job Summary
To assist the team in maintaining efficient underwriting operations processes and providing
customer service to clients and internal stakeholders.
Objective of the role
To provide support and assistance to underwriting operations quality checking policy documents, and other operational documents
Triage broker and underwriter feedback on quality
To provide effective reporting on quality
To establish good internal and external relationships with clients and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Support
Auditing policy documents generated by UA’s - ensuring all data within the document matches PAS, slips and Underwriter instructions. Font and formatting in line with standards
Feedback quality results to UA’s, Operational TL’s and Ops Managers in a a clear and concise manner, ensuring all feedback is remediated within 24 hrs of communicating it
Monitor broker feedback on any errors/omissions/additions by reviewing the Beazley Policy mailbox and updating relevant trackers
Monitor and track UW feedback post quality review on Policy issuance errors/omissions/additions
Attend underwriting training and meetings as appropriate
Produce reports on quality analytics
Help maintain team standards through supporting other underwriting assistants (quality) in achieving their service/quality levels and targets as required
Support the underwriters and team leader as required
Participate in ad-hoc project work periodically

Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
Personal Specification
This role requires someone result focused, self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic. This role would be ideal for somebody with a professional approach to interact successfully with other clients, building relationships and an ability to negotiate with both internal and external parties.
Skills and Abilities
Fluency in English and other languages based on regional business requirements
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Accurate and numerate
Computer skills – good working knowledge of MS Office
Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
Effective communication skills (written, verbal, active listening)
Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize
Capable and comfortable with high percentage of daily activities requiring data entry
Knowledge and Experience
Proven administrative experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services sectors
Proven background in accurate, high volume data entry
Underwriting Assistant/Audit experience is advantageous
Competencies
Understanding of Insurance Processes:
Insurance Knowledge – Familiarity with basic insurance concepts, tools and terminology
Business Process Knowledge – Understanding of the workflow for policy issuance, claims processing, and underwriting across the risk lifecycle
Attention to detail
Error Detection – Ability to identify discrepancies and errors in documentation and data through thorough analysis and vigilance
Detail/Accuracy Oriented – Maintains accuracy in data remediation and reporting to ensure timely and efficient servicing of policy and claims processing
Basic analytical skills
Data Analysis – Understanding of basic statistical concepts and ability to perform simple data analysis to identify trends, patterns and draw useful insights from business or customer data
Communication skills
Clear Communication – Clear and effective verbal and written communication with team members and stakeholders.
Concise Reporting – Ability to document findings and report key issues concisely
Stakeholder Management – Builds and manages relationships with business, operations and external stakeholders
