Job Summary:
Trinity Grading, Inc. is a grading and underground contractor located in Temecula, CA seeking an
experienced Underground Utility Estimator with Project Management experience to join our growing construction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for underground wet utility projects while also supporting project management activities to ensure successful execution from preconstruction through completion. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of underground wet utilities, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for underground utility projects including water, sewer, and storm drain systems
Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and leadership during bid preparation
Assist with project management responsibilities including scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking
Manage project documentation, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Monitor project progress and help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience estimating underground utility or civil construction projects
Project management experience for a subcontractor in underground utilities preferred
Strong understanding of underground wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with public works or municipal projects
Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
Experience with takeoff software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools
