Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our OB/GYN team. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, support patients throughout their care experience, and provide accurate imaging data to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment planning. The ideal candidate is clinically competent, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with provider orders, clinical protocols, and industry standards
Produce and document high-quality sonographic images for physician interpretation
Prepare and position patients, clearly explaining procedures to ensure comfort and understanding
Monitor patient condition during exams and respond appropriately to any concerns
Communicate technical findings to physicians through oral and/or written summaries
Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including imaging and documentation
Ensure proper operation, cleanliness, and maintenance of ultrasound equipment
Adhere to all clinic policies, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
Collaborate with providers and staff to support efficient patient flow and high-quality care
Participate in team meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
Support value-based care efforts to enhance patient outcomes
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Current ultrasound technologist certification required
RDMS registered or registry-eligible (as applicable)
High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited ultrasound program preferred
Minimum of one year of ultrasound experience or relevant clinical training preferred
OB/GYN ultrasound experience preferred
Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to produce diagnostic-quality images that meet physician expectations
Knowledge of ultrasound equipment, imaging techniques, and sonography standards
Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer systems
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Sound judgment and ability to remain calm in urgent situations
Commitment to professionalism and patient-centered care
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods
Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation and patient positioning
Ability to assist with patient transfers (lifting, pushing, pulling within safety guidelines)
Visual acuity to review images and documentation accurately
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
