About the Role

About the Role We are looking for a user centric UI UX Designer to join our team and help shape the future of our digital products. In this role, you will own the end-to-end design process, transforming complex requirements into intuitive experiences across Web platforms. Beyond visuals, you will play a key role in defining how our product communicates by crafting the narrative and microcopy that guides users. This role is ideal for a proactive problem solver who believes that great design is a conversation between the product and the user.

Your key responsibilities will include

Collaborate with Product Teams and Product Managers on bringing the user experience to life, from conception to execution

Distill complex requirements to create simplified user experiences in a cross-platform environment

Solve product problems with a focus on the best user experience while balancing company and project timelines and ease of implementation

Define and refine visual and UX design language for Android, iOS, desktop, and web applications

Prioritize usability and user experience by continuously evaluating designs through user feedback, heuristics, and usability best practices

Craft clear and concise in product copy including button labels, error messages, and onboarding flows to reduce friction

Execute concept creation via wireframes, user flows, sitemaps and prototypes

Translate wireframe concepts into visual mock ups by applying the best UI design patterns and standards

Maintain a consistent product voice across all platforms, ensuring technical requirements are translated into human centered language

Develop and maintain pixel perfect visual design specs and composites across all platforms including Android, iOS, and web products

Create visual design guides, specifications, and assets for development and partner with the Product Team on the implementation

Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for digital products and experiences, including user interfaces, buttons, menus, microcopy, and error messages

Ensure all UX copy aligns with YuJa’s tone, voice, and accessibility standards.

Strategize content hierarchy and information flow to ensure the visual interface and copy work together to improve usability and user experience

Demonstrated experience and understanding of user centered design, user testing methodologies, usability, and accessibility standards and practices (WCAG 2.0, 2.1)

Own all stages of the design process from initial concept, research, sketching, and user flows, through to high fidelity prototypes and development hand off

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships

Able to prioritize and manage workload, meet critical project milestones and deadlines, and pivot as needed

About You

Bachelor’s degree, Diploma or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Digital Web/Software Design, or related academic stream with up to 1 to 3 years of relevant experience

Strong command of the English language with the ability to simplify complex jargon into intuitive microcopy

A strong portfolio of completed projects which demonstrate strategic, creative, and user centered design solutions to complex problems

Demonstrated ability to show how copy choices and content strategy impact user behavior and task completion

UX knowledge and experience conducting user research, creating flows, designing wireframes and interactive prototypes using industry software such as Figma and Adobe Suites

Experience building interactive prototypes to validate and test concepts

Excellent knowledge of current web trends, accessibility practices (AODA), and production best practices

Ability to work independently as well collaboratively as part of a team and to multitask in a high paced work environment

This is an office-based role with standard hours from Monday to Friday.
