This role is part of our Experience & Engineering unit based in Croatia. We combine our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to deliver exceptional and engaging digital experiences that build lasting relationships with our clients like Lufthansa, Inter Milan, Gant, BioNTech and Beiersdorf.

JOB PURPOSE

In this role, you’ll grow and lead a talented team of digital designers in our growing office in Zagreb or Split, shaping top-notch experiences for international clients. You’ll collaborate with DEPT® teams across Europe, tackle complex design challenges, and push design quality to the next level. You're not just a strong designer, you’re a people-first leader who mentors talent, challenges conventions, and helps shape a thriving team culture. From hiring to hands-on design, you'll play a key role in putting our Croatian design team on the map.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Drive creativity and deliver excellence: As a lead designer for key accounts, you set the standard for design quality and ensure that every project is not only visually appealing but also strategically sound, delivered on time, and within budget.

• Empowering People: You will manage and mentor a talented team of visual designers (from Junior to Senior), conducting regular 1-on-1s and fostering an environment where they can grow, experiment, and thrive.

• Strategic Collaboration: You will work closely with the UX Design Teamlead and other leaders to further improve our capabilities and processes.

WHAT YOU BRING:

• A Proven Track Record: An impressive portfolio showcasing sophisticated experience design and a deep understanding of digital platforms, ideally gained within a fast-paced agency environment.

• Leadership skills: You know how to give constructive feedback and enjoy helping others grow. First experience in leading a team is a plus.

• Design System Nerd: You are an expert in building and maintaining scalable Design Systems that bridge the gap between aesthetics and functionality.

• Accessibility as a Mindset: You view WCAG standards not as hurdles, but as fundamental design principles, effortlessly blending stunning aesthetics with inclusive usability.

• Collaborative Spirit: You enjoy working in cross-functional teams, speaking the "languages" of UX Designers, Copywriters, and Developers to bring together ideas to life.

• Modern Toolstack: Mastery of Figma is a must; experience with motion design and prototyping tools like Framer or Jitter is a massive plus.

• Industry Pulse: You’re not only curious about digital trends, AI, new technologies, and design trends—you’re also committed to incorporating relevant innovations into your work.

• Communication Skills: You are fluent in English and are able to effectively communicate complex design concepts to both executive-level clients and engineers.

• The "Plus" Factor: While not a hard requirement, experience in Brand Design is a great advantage, helping us create cohesive experiences from identity to interface.
