Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity

Te Pūtahi Mātauranga | The Faculty of Arts and Education is seeking a Tuākana Administrator to provide administrative and operational support to the Tuākana programme for Māori and Pacific undergraduate students. Working closely with the Tuākana Team Leader and Coordinator, and as part of Student Support and Engagement, this role helps ensure the smooth delivery of programme activities that contribute to a welcoming, connected learning community supporting engagement, retention and success.

You will be responsible for:

• Coordinating logistics for Tuākana-teina workshops and events, including bookings, catering and communications
• Maintaining accurate records, data and mentor logs to support reporting and programme evaluation
• Supporting financial tracking and documentation in line with University processes
• Assisting with student communications and the day-to-day administration of programme activity, including upkeep of Tuākana spaces

This is a part-time (18.75 hours per week), permanent position.

The remuneration range is $55,634 - $62,900 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

• Experience working with Māori and/or Pacific students in a tertiary setting
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with confidence managing multiple tasks
• Sound computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and University systems
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative, relationship-focused approach
