We’re seeking a Truck Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced, people-driven environment. This role blends dispatching, relationship management, and persuasion, working closely with owner-operators to move freight efficiently. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, comfort influencing decisions, and the ability to build trust with independent drivers.
As the primary link between drivers, customers, and internal teams, you’ll coordinate freight, problem-solve in real time, and learn how to balance service, efficiency, and profitability. This role offers competitive pay ($21–$23/hour), structured training, and growth opportunities for individuals who are motivated to develop and succeed in a dynamic operation.
This position is onsite Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm.

What You’ll Do
Coordinate freight and support assigned trucks through daily dispatch and high-volume phone communication
Work directly with owner-operators to influence load decisions, balance preferences, and keep freight moving
Use Mercer’s Load Board to connect freight with contractor needs
Track and update Hours of Service (HOS), call activity, and shipment documentation
Resolve delays, breakdowns, and load changes through real-time problem-solving and decision-making
Balance driver relationships, customer needs, and profitability while maintaining compliance
Who You Are
Strong communicator—confident with phone, email, and in person
Comfortable building relationships and influencing decisions without authority
Calm under pressure with good judgment and time management
Open to frequent feedback and coaching while developing your skills
Organized, adaptable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable using computers and dispatch tools
High School Diploma or equivalent required; dispatch, logistics, or customer-facing experience is a plus
