About the Team:

The Treasury and Payment Solutions (TPS) Sales organization within BMO’s U.S. Commercial Bank delivers cash management, card solutions, merchant services, and deposit products to clients across diverse industries. The Specialty Groups Sales team focuses on tailored solutions for key verticals such as Commercial Real Estate, Food, Consumer & Agriculture, and Sponsor Finance & Funds.

Role Overview:

As a Treasury Advisor Team Lead, you will manage a team of Treasury Advisors who provide sales support functions to senior sales professionals within BMO TPS. This leadership role entails the ability to:

• Provide strategic and management oversight, training, and coaching to both experienced and new team members in both TPS and Sales
• Partner closely with sales team lead counterparts to ensure that the team is providing the appropriate level of support to their partners and is receiving the needed guidance and opportunities from their partners to grow in the role
• Work within the BMO TPS ecosystem to help the team complete necessary client deliverables and tasks with the right level of urgency, a focus on client satisfaction, and adherence to risk and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Development:• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of Treasury Advisors, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching and guidance to enhance product knowledge, sales effectiveness, and client engagement skills.

• Sales Strategy & Execution:• Partner with Treasury Consultants and Specialty Group team leaders to align team activities with overall sales strategies and revenue goals.
• Oversee development and delivery of TPS content, ensuring quality and consistency across proposals and presentations.

• Operational Excellence:• Monitor team performance metrics, pipeline activity, and client engagement through Salesforce and other reporting tools.
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of pricing, proposals, and onboarding processes; escalating to TPS partners as needed

• Risk & Compliance:• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance standards across all team activities.
• Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.

Applies consultative sales and relationship management practices to generate leads and close sales of treasury management and payment solutions for new and existing clients while ensuring regulatory compliance. Monitors implementation activities to ensure alignment with timelines. Provides tailored treasury management solutions and optimizes sales processes through continuous process improvements to enhance client experiences and business outcomes. Manages sales processes, client engagement and outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Manages complex client sales inquiries related to product offerings, pricing, and implementation, ensuring clear communication and timely responses to facilitate the sales process.
• Conducts sales discussions, introducing innovative products and services, sharing insights on industry trends, and fostering proactive client engagement.
• Promotes new business opportunities by building client relationships, cross-selling treasury solutions, and leveraging external networks.
• Coordinates deal closures by collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure agreements are finalized effectively and in compliance with organizational standards.
• Ensures the accuracy of documentation for cash management services, reviewing service agreements and maintaining compliance with internal policies and guidelines.
• Proactively resolves discrepancies in client documentation and maturity reports, ensuring records are accurate and risks are mitigated efficiently.
• Monitors client implementation activities to ensure timely delivery, providing actionable feedback for internal process refinement and improved client experiences.
• Serves as a subject matter expert to stakeholders, addressing treasury and payment-related challenges, and providing insights to improve processes and solutions.
• Advises clients on specialized cash flow and liquidity management strategies, offering tailored recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and financial planning.
• Attends industry forums and community events, enhancing the Bank’s brand, staying updated on market trends, and leveraging insights to support sales strategies.
• Builds and maintains strong long-term relationships with the bank’s high-value and strategic clients, providing strategic advice on financial solutions and ensuring exceptional service and partnership.
• Analyzes client and industry data to inform customized client solution strategies that includes optimizing management of working capital.
• Works closely with internal teams and stakeholders to define products, solutions and strategies that best fit clients’ needs.
• Builds advocacy and adoption of the suite of industry leading NA TPS digital products & solutions.
• Supports implementation activities, including documentation, pricing, and project timelines ensuring timely delivery and continuous process improvements.
• Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance, mitigating risk and maintaining service standards.
• Fosters a culture aligned to BMO's purpose, values and strategy and role models BMO's values and behaviours in all that they do.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 6–8 years of experience in banking, treasury, or financial services, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior role.
• Strong knowledge of treasury products (e.g., liquidity management, payment solutions) and industry trends.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills

Salary:

$74,000.00 - $138,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
