Southeast Region (GA, SC, NC, TN, FL Panhandle)

We are seeking Traveling Pipe Layers with experience in heavy civil construction, specifically underground utilities. This role requires someone who understands trenching, grading, and pipe installation, and who can work with a crew to execute safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project goals across multiple job sites.
Key Responsibilities
Install storm drain, sanitary sewer, and waterline systems according to plans and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, cuts, fills, and elevations
Set up and operate pipe lasers, transits, grade rods, and line levels
Establish and maintain proper line and grade for pipe installation
Ensure trenches are properly prepared, including excavation, bedding, and shoring
Follow OSHA guidelines for trenching, sloping, and soil conditions
Adjust work methods based on varying soil types and field conditions
Install pipe to proper alignment and grade to ensure watertight and structurally sound systems
Assist with setting structures, including manholes and inlets
Ensure proper backfill and compaction to maintain pipe integrity
Work with Foreman and crew to maintain production goals and minimize rework
Troubleshoot field challenges and help implement efficient solutions
Maintain a strong pace of work while ensuring safety and quality standards are met
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
Experience installing underground utilities (storm, sewer, water
Strong understanding of trenching, grading, and pipe installation practice
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
Experience using pipe lasers and grading tools
Basic math skills and understanding of elevations and slopes
Ability to work in varying weather and job site conditions
Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast
Requirements
Must have valid driver's license
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must participate in pre-employment and random drug screening program
Subject to a background screening process
