Position Summary:

The Transportation Services Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for clients receiving behavioral health services. This position plays a vital role in supporting client engagement and access to care by ensuring individuals can attend therapy sessions, medical appointments, community programs, and other approved destinations. The driver upholds the company’s commitment to safety, confidentiality, and respect for all clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide safe and timely transportation for clients to and from counseling appointments, treatment facilities, community programs, and other approved destinations.

Operate company vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they remain clean, fueled, and in proper working condition.

Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and empathy when interacting with clients who may be experiencing emotional, mental, or behavioral challenges.

Assist clients with entering and exiting the vehicle safely; secure any necessary mobility aids or seat restraints as needed.

Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, and trip documentation.

Communicate promptly with supervisors or dispatch regarding scheduling, delays, or client-related concerns.

Ensure client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policy.

Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.

Participate in required trainings, including safety, client interaction, and crisis response procedures.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Prior experience working in a behavioral health, social services, or healthcare setting preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations.

Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and support clients respectfully.

Must pass background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist clients with mobility as needed.

Work Environment:

Work primarily conducted in company vehicles and behavioral health program settings.

Exposure to varying weather conditions during transport.

Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on client and program needs.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent driving, sitting, standing, and walking.

Occasional lifting, bending, and assisting clients with mobility challenges.

Compensation:

This job pays per pick-up/drop-off count. 

No Show Rate:

If driver attempts to pick up client(s) or drop off client(s) and is no-showed or canceled on day of, driver will be paid $25.00 for that day.

Half-Day Rate:

If driver completes 1-2 pick up and drop-offs, driver will be paid $60.00 for that day.

Full-Day Rate:

If driver completes 3 or more pick-up and drop-offs, driver will be paid $120.00 for that day.

Contractual language: The Company shall pay Contractor a flat fee of $120.00 per day for providing the Transportation Services as described herein, regardless of the distance, time incurred in rendering such services, and number of passengers in each trip. For purposes of this Agreement, the daily compensation rate shall require Contractor to provide a minimum of one (1) pick-ups and three (3) drop-offs. If Contractor provides more than (1) pick-ups but less than three (3) drop-offs, Contractor shall be paid a half-day flat rate of $60.00. If Contractor attempts to make a pick-up and drop-off but Contractor is no-showed or if a trip is cancelled during an attempt, ultimately resulting in 0 pick-ups and 0 drop-offs for that day, Contractor shall be paid a no-show flat rate of $25.00 for that day. Contractors shall record their time worked in BambooHR as independent contractors for confirmation purposes. Contractors shall be paid on a bi-weekly basis for all Transportation Services rendered during the preceding pay period.
