PRIMARY EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES
This role will be a strategic, hands-on leader to architect, deploy and define how the business operates by establishing standard work, management systems, and performance infrastructure from the ground up while delivering measurable performance improvements in the near term. The leader will operate comfortably at both the executive and frontline levels, influencing strategy while empowering employees across the organization to drive continuous improvement along with and building long-term organizational capability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production System Design & Deployment (Build the Engine)
Architect and implement a scalable, enterprise-wide Production System from the ground up
Define and standardize:
Daily Management System (tiered accountability, visual management)
Standard work and leader standard work
KPI structure and performance cadence
Problem-solving frameworks (A3, DMAIC, root cause analysis)
Value stream design and flow optimization
Establish governance, audit mechanisms, and sustainment processes
Integrate digital tools (MES, dashboards, analytics) where appropriate
Transformation Leadership (Drive Immediate Impact)
Lead aggressive, high-impact improvement initiatives targeting safety, cost, quality, delivery, and productivity
Conduct deep operational diagnostics to identify constraints and value opportunities
Execute rapid kaizen and value stream transformations to deliver measurable results within the first 6–12 months
Challenge existing assumptions and drive accountability at all levels
Partner with executive leadership to align CI strategy with business and financial goals
Enterprise Continuous Improvement (Scale the System)
Develop and execute a multi-year CI roadmap that transitions from transformation to sustainment
Expand CI beyond operations into supply chain, engineering, and support functions
Standardize best practices across sites and functions
Establish a sustainable pipeline of improvement initiatives
Training, Coaching & Capability Building (Empower the Organization)
Design and deploy structured training programs in Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies
Train and coach all levels of the organization (executives through frontline employees)
Lead workshops, kaizen events, and hands-on improvement activities
Build internal CI capability and reduce reliance on centralized experts
Establish certification or skill progression frameworks (e.g., Yellow/Green/Black Belt or equivalent)
Foster a culture where employees are empowered and expected to identify and implement improvements
Executive Engagement & Communication
Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on operational performance and transformation strategy
Lead executive-level presentations, business reviews, and steering committees
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Influence decision-making at the VP and executive level
Change Leadership & Culture
Drive enterprise-wide cultural transformation toward accountability and data-driven decision making
Influence and align stakeholders across all levels without direct authority
Balance urgency of results with long-term sustainability of systems
Knowledge, Skill & Experience Requirements
10+ years in manufacturing operations, supply chain, and quality systems, including multi-site or complex environments
Proven transformation leadership delivering speed and measurable business impact
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and Data-driven decision making capabilities with disciplined execution
Expertise in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred)
Experience deploying production systems and building enterprise-wide capabilities
Exposure to Industry 4.0 and digital integration into production environments
Background in high-performance or regulated industries (e.g., semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, automotive)
Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills
Demonstrated success driving cultural change, organizational alignment, and large-scale transformation
Work Environment (include physical requirements)
Corporate, fast-paced environment focused on enterprise-wide transformation and operational excellence
Frequent collaboration with executive leadership, plant teams, and cross-functional stakeholders (operations, supply chain, IT, finance)
Regular travel to manufacturing sites (domestic and international) to support deployment and ensure impact realization
Balance of strategic planning and hands-on engagement on the shop floor
High-visibility role requiring influence across all levels of the organization
