About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our Patient Services Department at our Christchurch Laboratory. Positions are available on both a part-time and casual basis, with hours varying to suit operational needs.
These roles are integral to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring every patient has a positive, professional experience. Whether you are an experienced Phlebotomist or looking to begin your career in healthcare as a Trainee, full training will be provided for the right candidates.

Responsibilities include:
The key tasks include blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.
Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.

To be successful in this role you need to have:
The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines.
Customer focus and commitment to providing a high quality of service to internal and external customers with effective interpersonal skills.
A sound knowledge of medical terminology, laboratory operations including safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience is desirable, but not essential.
Diploma in Applied Science, or a Bachelor of Science would be an advantage, but not essential.
Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician in Patient Services is desirable, but not essential.
A valid New Zealand full or restricted driver’s license
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
