Company: Chickmont Foods Ltd.
Job Summary:
Supervises the production process to meet all Food Safety and Food Quality standards. The successful candidate must be flexible, willing to work shifts, work with their hands and lead by example.
Acts as Back up for:
The various departmental Supervisors in their planned or unexpected absence, (Back Dock, Kill/EV/Feet, Packaging, Deboning, Sanitation and any other department if and when required).
Duties will include but not limited to the following:
Verifying activities to ensure all SQF Standards or any other related standards are maintained
Monitoring procedures to verify their effectiveness and ensure that all daily targets are achieved.
Supervising all activities of the production team and coordinating with the Supervisory Team and General staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
Ensuring that all related and supporting documents are maintained and providing assistance with any audit as necessary.
Scheduling staff on a weekly basis to effectively execute the job as it relates to each department.
Coordinating and directing staff regarding activities to achieve targets in the absence of Plant Manager or designate.
Skills and Education
BSc in Science or Management
Associate’s Degree in Biology or Chemistry or related Science discipline with 2 years experience.
Good working knowledge of MS Suite and be computer literate
Need to be willing to learn and receive continuous professional development
Must be able to multitask effectively, organize effectively and delegate competently.
Must be able to employ relevant Supervisory and Management skills to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
General Job Requirements
Carrying out and directing duties in a safety environment
Ensuring that PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required for any duty or department is worn.
Ensuring that staff adhere to all company rules and regulations, offenders are to be referred to HR and must be able to engage with staff and provide timely and effective feedback.
In this role you are expected to liaise across departments (e.g Sales and Distribution, Maintenance, Human Resource and Administration).
