As a Trainee Designer, you will support the Designer and Buying teams in researching and designing a commercial range, including trend, colour, shape direction

You will be responsible for staying ahead of trends, continually research new ideas.

What You’ll Do as a Trainee Designer

In your role, you’ll collaborate with different people across a range of skillsets. Here’s a flavour of your day-to-day:

• Conduct daily trend research across multiple platforms and share insights with the womenswear teams.
• Translate latest trends into commercially viable designs aligned with Primark’s brand handwriting.
• Collaborate with the design team to create strong, original graphics and prints.
• Support range development by considering garment shapes, fabrics, and seasonal colour direction.
• Manage design updates, track amendments, and ensure timely communication across teams.
• Prepare design files, presentations, and handle colour/trend/product-related admin tasks.

• Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Excel, with skills in both hand drawing and digital design.
