Our Core Laboratory team is seeking a Trainee or Pre-Analytical Technician for a six-month, fixed-term, part-time role of 50 hours per fortnight, that may be subject to review.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, state-of-the-art lab environment. You’ll work alongside skilled professionals, learning essential laboratory processes and contributing to accurate, timely test results that directly support patient care.
In this role, you will support the daily operations of the laboratory by performing a range of essential tasks. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality service and laboratory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Barcoding, receipting, and preparing specimens as they arrive at the laboratory.
Entering patient and test details accurately into the system.
Answering telephones and handling enquiries professionally.
Work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy.
Be willing to learn new skills and adapt to changing procedures.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Maintain a friendly, customer-focused approach at all times.
Show initiative and be self-sufficient in your day-to-day tasks.
