Trainee Conveyancer

This is an entry-level legal professional who supports qualified conveyancers or solicitors in handling property transactions. The role focuses on learning the conveyancing process while assisting with administrative and legal tasks related to buying, selling, or transferring property.

• Assisting with residential property transactions (freehold and leasehold)
• Preparing and drafting legal documents and contracts
• Conducting property searches (local authority, Land Registry, environmental, etc.)
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and solicitors
• Opening and managing client files
• Handling correspondence via phone, email, and post
• Supporting exchange of contracts and completion processes
• Updating case management systems
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements

Skills & Qualities Required

• Strong attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under supervision
• Basic understanding of property law (preferred)
• IT proficiency (case management systems, Microsoft Office)

Requirements:
Entry Requirements: Degree (helpful but not always required)

• Alternatively, an AAL in Sri Lanka
