The Trading Support Controller supports the operational and financial processes of a fertilizers trading business. The role focuses on invoice verification, reconciliation of counterparties, and financial coordination across operational and logistics functions. The position requires strong attention to detail and understanding of commodity trading flows, including contract execution, shipping documentation, and settlement processes.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify logistics-related invoices (freight, inspection, storage) against contracts and supporting documents.
• Ensure accuracy of pricing, quantities, Incoterms, and contractual conditions in all financial documents.
• Prepare and submit invoices for payment in line with internal approval procedures and payment schedules.
• Perform operational reconciliation of balances with counterparties and service providers in coordination with accounting team.
• Consolidate mutual settlements and monitor open positions across multiple contracts and shipments.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies related to pricing, logistics costs, quantities, quality claims.
• Liaise with Operations, logistics, and counterparties to clarify contractual and financial issues.
• Support contract execution by ensuring all financial aspects are aligned with shipment documents (BL, invoices, certificates).
• Work closely with the Finance and Accounting teams to ensure proper allocation of costs and revenues per trade.
• Support month-end closing by providing reconciliations, accruals, and supporting documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of trade-related financial data in internal files and the CRM system.
Requirements:
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in logistics and commodities trading, preferably fertilizers, agri-products, or bulk materials
• Understanding of Incoterms, trade lifecycle, and shipping documentation (BL, COA, laytime calculations)
• Experience with logistics cost structures (freight, inspections, demurrage/dispatch)
• Strong Excel skills
• High attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data
• Strong communication skills for interaction with international counterparties
