Position Overview:
The Tire Technician is responsible for providing tire-related services and support within an organization. This role involves assisting with tire maintenance, inventory management, and ensuring the availability of tires for company vehicles or equipment. The In-House Tire Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of the organization's tire operations.
Responsibilities:
Perform tire installations, rotations, and repairs on company vehicles or equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Conduct regular tire inspections to identify tread wear, damage, or other performance or safety issues.
Maintain accurate tire inventory records, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and reordering tires as needed.
Ensure the proper storage and organization of tires in the tire shop and any additional storage areas.
Collaborate with other departments or external vendors to coordinate tire purchases, deliveries, and warranties.
Assist with tire-related emergencies, such as flat tire replacements or repairs, to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
Operate tire equipment, such as tire changers and balancers, safely and effectively.
Maintain a clean and organized tire shop environment, adhering to cleanliness and safety standards.
Follow proper waste disposal procedures for used tires and other tire-related materials.
Stay updated on industry trends, new tire models, and technological advancements to provide informed tire selection and maintenance recommendations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in tire installation, repair, or maintenance is preferred.
Strong knowledge of tire types, sizes, and specifications.
Familiarity with tire-related tools and equipment.
Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
Physical ability to lift heavy tires, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
