Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion and are looking to expand our team with the addition of Tier 2 Mechanical Assemblers. The Tier 2 Mechanical Assembler works in a dynamic manufacturing environment with a commitment to growth through rapid prototyping. The successful applicant will be expected to be fully cross trained across mechanical assembly functions and will autonomously complete production tasks from part picking through to full assembly, including more complex builds and troubleshooting. This is a permanent, full-time position.
The Duties and Responsibilities:
Advanced Fabrication and Assembly
Complete mechanical assembly work from part picking through to final assembly, ensuring accuracy, quality, and efficiency
Work independently across all mechanical stations while maintaining consistent output and quality standards
Use hand and power tools to complete game component assemblies based on drawings and assembly guides
Update component assembly guides as changes occur
Prepare small-batch wiring harness orders for concept prototyping
Support quality testing and prototype installations when needed
Maintain workstation cleanliness and organization
Maintain workspace inventory levels based on weekly checks
Perform other duties as assigned
Advanced Part Picking and Assembly
Carry out daily picking tasks to help meet production targets and workflow efficiency
Process incoming sales orders and ensure items are picked accurately and on time
Work closely with Team Leads and employees in other departments when completing orders
Follow all quality control standards and handle materials properly and safely
Communicate with production planning and inventory teams when discrepancies or issues arise
Suggest and support improvements that can increase efficiency and reduce errors
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
The Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-years of experience in an assembly production setting is required
Must have at completed at least 6 months as a Tier 1 Mechanical Assembler
Consistent performance in Tier 1 role, meeting expectations in quality, safety, attendance, and productivity
Proficient in all assembly stations
Experience using hand and power tools in a production or assembly setting is required
Demonstrated ability to complete mechanical assemblies independently from part picking through to final build
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to resolve routine assembly issues independently
Must be capable of meeting assigned production targets and maintaining consistent output
Strong communication skulls and ability to support other team members when required
